Ten go-to independent online stores to create amazing interiors

So, if you have been following me for a while you might notice i have slightly eclectic taste when it comes to home decor, so with that in mind I've put together a post featuring some of my favourite independent eclectic home stores for your perusal. These are my go-to websites to find the quirky, the curious and the stand out talking pieces for your home. Enjoy!

(*Disclaimer- if you fall in love with anything and everything I'm sorry!)

Rocket St. George

This has to be up there with one of my all-time favourite online stores. It has a beautiful collection of homewares and furniture, from juju hat wall decorations to amazing velvet occasion chairs and octopus bookends it definitely is the definition of eclectic cool . Although some items may be a little high-end price wise there is definitely something there for every budget even if I do picture that pink velvet chair in my house with a cool neon sign behind- a girl can dream! If you want to create your own individual lampshade the one pictured is called Favourite Things and you can put objects inside it!

The store has just launched its first book to showcase extraordentary interiors offering advice on making the right choices for your personality and lifestyle, my copy just arrvied today!

April and the Bear

I’ve followed this store since I saw the owners on a TV show on RTE Home of the Year back in 2015 and loved their style. Based in Dublin, April and the Bear has a carefully curated selection of quirky homewares from hand-shaped coat hooks to resin penguin statues  to bespoke made to order T-Rex head with a peppering of local prints. My top picks are the Circum rose mirror, cheese sloth plate and the penguin statue. You can also visit the phsysial store which has recnetly opened in Dublin City Centre!

Hilary and Flo

Firstly, I NEED the monkey bowl in my life! Hilary and Flo is based in Sheffield and although it has a physical store too I wanted to include it in this online post as it has the most quriky and the most eclectic range of home wares on the web! The store stocks some Abigail Ahern planters, Tipperly Hill prints, animal head vases by Quail, a vast range of signs including this naked one and all sorts of interesting objects to decorate your home, it even has a cotton and iron swing for sale! My personal favourites are the monkey with bowl, the gold metallic planter and this huge faux cactus.

Wyld Home

If you like more boho interiors this store is the place for you. Based in Shropshire the store is inspired by Abigail Ahern’s signature dark style this store is packed with her faux flowers and textured vases to display them. It has a great selection of Bride trays, faux taxidermy and the best menagerie of birds, monkeys, crocodiles and a tortoise named Hercules! There is also a fab selection of wallpaper and kitsch Lapin nightlights for the quirkiest of interiors.

Tin Design

What I love about this online store is the local artisan section which sets it apart from most online stores. It showcases local talent from in and around Leigh on Sea and includes talented photographers, artists and makers along with the main collection which includes Ibride (the amazing ostrich table), textured vases and amazing mirrors.

The store also boast a ‘basement’ section with vintage and retro items for sale. My favourite pieces on the website would have to be theconcrete and gold hand made letters, Frida geometric print and ostrich console table.

Violet and Thistle

This is probably one of the very first Instagram accounts I started following, based in North London it has just started stocking the best affordable neon lights around. (I can’t decide between the lips or the cocktail sign- is buying both too much?!) You can find some home-wares from my favourite small businesses too including sheepskin stools by Suburban Salon (the same as my pink fluffy stool), prints by We are Amused and Ruben Ireland together with a great selection of vases of all shapes and sizes and fab pineapple mirrors.

Dust

Sarah and Lisa are 2 friends who decided to set up DUST, initially a store set up in Sarah’s basement it has evolved in to an online store and interior design consultancy. I love their style and each object adds a statement to any room from feather juju hats wall décor, seletti monkey lamps (you might recognise this from my house!) to faux birds and the must have bar cart this store has all the ingredients to create an eclectic home. They offer both a 2 hour design consultation and a full interior design service so if you just need some ideas or a full design they can help you out!

Lime Lace

This store has so much online it took me ages to narrow down the images to show you all. It has a great range of etched bottles with great titles like this "acidic wit" or "creative juices" and "hangover solution". There’s everything from cheeky gnomes, great selection of wallpapers, lighting and furniture together with eclectic accessories like this toucan money box, brick vase and a fab selection of mirrors. I have my eye on the rhombus ceiling tiles.

Huxley and Hus

This online store was set up by 2 friends whose sons are best friends with a great ethos of only selling items they would have in their own homes and a result they only photograph products in their or their friends’ homes. I love their anatomical cat storage jar, pink letter board and papercut wall art. There is a strong gold theme with gold prints, cushions and vases for those interiors magpies! Most recently they have begun to stock art including  prints by The Curious Department and a recent collaboration between The Curious Department and  Kimberley from Swoon Worthy (both worth a follow)

Homeplace

This store mixes vintage, contemporary and all things in between and was founded on the basis that homes should tell a story about their inhabitants which I love. It is run by Wendy with the help of her husband 2 young children and Pablo the dog all from their own home. It has a definite retro feel with a great selection of mid-century furniture, West German colourfully glazed pottery, marble clocks and vintage maps and charts. Check out the fab range of mid-century chairs and vintage drinks trolleys!

Hope you enjoyed my round up!
